Local Team Helps Couple Overcome Hoarding and Resolve Tenancy Breach
Our local Neighbourhood Team were recently able to help a couple who were at serious risk of losing their tenancy due to the condition of their property. The main issue was hoarding, which had severely impacted their living environment and led to a breach of tenancy.
After an open and honest conversation, the couple began to understand the seriousness of the situation - something they hadn’t fully grasped before. Together, a plan was agreed: The Neighbourhood Officer would apply for funding for a deep clean, provided the couple first took steps to declutter and clear the space themselves.
Their response was remarkable. Within just a week, they had transformed their home to a good standard - so much so that the deep clean was no longer necessary. Their motivation and commitment to improving their living conditions were truly inspiring.
Thanks to their hard work and the support provided, the tenancy breach has now been successfully resolved. The couple shared how happy they are with the outcome and expressed their gratitude for the help they received.
