Tree Planting
Join us in planting a new hedgerow for National Tree Week!
2025 marks the 50th year of National Tree Week, a celebration of the beginning of tree planting season. We’ll be marking the occasion with our first tree planting projects of the season – on Tuesday 25th November, we’ll be planting around 40 metres of hedgerow at Hyde Park Allotments near to the newly created community growing area! Hedgerows are crucial wildlife corridors that give nature a boost whilst providing attractive borders, site security, and fruit and nuts.
We'll provide the trees, canes, guards, gloves, and spades, all you need is suitable attire (good footwear and layers to keep warm) and enthusiasm!
The trees are 1-2 years old and 60-90cm in height, and their small size means that anyone of any age or ability can get involved.
Refreshments will be provided. Let us know you're coming by e-mailing sustainabilityteam@doncaster.gov.uk and don't hesitate to send us any questions you may have.
Cost: Free
