Edlington Day of Action

A successful Day of Action took place in Edlington, showcasing the power of partnership working.

Led by the Neighbourhood Team, the event brought together South Yorkshire Police, the Enforcement Team, WISE, Well Doncaster and St Leger Homes to deliver real impact across the community.

Environmental Enforcement Activity

  • 5 properties visited regarding garden waste (monitoring ongoing).
  • 3 fly-tip inspections completed.
  • 1 cleansing case reported (no evidence found).
  • Alleyways and public spaces identified for cleansing.
  • 2 Fixed Penalty Notices issued for littering by WISE.
  • 1 caravan reported to Highways Enforcement for removal.

Community Led Support (CLS)

  • 13 residents engaged in conversations about nuisance motorbikes, parking and other concerns.
  • School visits led to 24 strength-based conversations with parents, helping build trust and identify support needs
  • Residents received wellbeing flyers, home security advice and contact numbers.
  • Well Doncaster held a group conversation with 12 residents, plus a one-on-one discussion to gather deeper community voice.

Crime and Enforcement

  • 2 warrants executed by South Yorkshire Police:
  • Drugs recovered.
  • 1 individual dealt with on-site for possession.
  • 2 arrests made—one remanded to prison, one granted bail.
  • 2 ABC referrals completed for individuals re-entering a barred shop.

Community Information Survey (CIS)

218 properties were visited on the Granby estate. Emerging Themes from the door knock responses were around:

  • Fear of retaliation prevents reporting.
  • Youth behaviour causing intimidation.
  • Drug activity
  • vehicle misuse speficially linked to off road bikes.

This Day of Action highlights how collaboration between services and residents can make Edlington a safer, cleaner and more connected place to live.
