Care Homes

Before considering a care home, it might be worth considering options that might enable a person to stay in their own home. These options include equipment, aids and adaptions, and support services such as meal delivery, cleaning, gardening and personal assistants. For more information visit Help Living at Home.

For some people, a care home might be the necessary choice. There are two categories of care home: Residential homes provide accommodation, meals and personal care (such as help with washing and eating). Nursing homes also have registered nurses who can provide care for more complex health needs.
